Maximus lives on 25 acres in Goochland County, VA and is owned by Anne & Chris Dennis. We did quite a bit of research and selected him based on his genes and his breeder. He is a wonderful dog, well-mannered, biddable, and exhibits a strong desire to listen and please. Max comes to his name and does not need leashing on our property and in most social situations - he responds very well to our commands. He also comes to a "puppy" recall from his breeder (for emergency situations, etc.). Max will wait for his meals until given his OK, he will sit, stay, lay down, and shake on command. He is not actively herding, but we plan to acquire chickens by Spring 2026 and possibly goats as well. We plan to work with him on his guarding and protecting. He chases deer on our property, but returns when called. He plays well with other dogs of all sizes and grew up around an elderly cat. Maximus is intact and we do hope to find a breeding match.
