Lucy has been by far the best dog we have ever owned. Her temperament around our 7 children, especially the toddler, is patient and sweet. Never complaining as they climb and pull and play. If she's not with me, she's following a younger child or joyously chasing the teenage on his 4 wheeler. We have never owned such a biddable dog. We've been amazed that at just over one year she will regularly give up great temptation in favor of listening to our call, or go to her bed with a quiet command. Her desire to please is enormous. Her behavior towards strangers is slightly wary but at once friendly once she watches our greeting. If feeling concerned she will bark a warning but it is easy to calm her fears with a command from us. I'm hoping to train her more on the farm life now that she is a year and has a lot of the basics down pat. There is a lot of potential in her biddable and lovable spirit! Working Description: We have a small family farm and purchased Lucy as a working dog. She's still a young dog and still in training, but the desire to work is clearly there. She will attempt to herd our dairy goats and will run them to the barn if they get out of the fence. She also attempts to herd our chickens. She has a watchful presence, preferring to be outside in front of our house rather than inside. She's always ready to join us wherever we head on the farm, eager to please.
