Lasso is one of the most socially stable dogs I have ever met. While his baseline is friendly and playful, he can easily adapt his behavior based on what other dogs do around him. If a dog acts shy, he will give them space, send calming signals, and only approach once the dog welcomes it. If a dog reacts aggressively to him, he will either give them space, or show he is otherwise not a threat. He greets all people with a happy tail, and sometimes an enthusiastic kiss. Once initial greetings are done, he is happy to do his own thing, or continue the attention. He is wonderful around my children, calm at the playground, and is happy to let anyone pet his soft fur. I am able to take Lasso pretty much anywhere, and aside from a slight dislike of the car, he is happy to go on any kind of adventure. Hike, great! Coffee shop, wonderful! Park, the best. He is a go anywhere, do anything kind of dog. I know I don't have to worry about him, even around dogs who are not as social as him.

Working Description: As a professional dog trainer, Lasso works with me as a demonstration dog, puppy raiser, and in reactive dog rehab. He has impeccable social skills, and is able to help calm fearful dogs, encourage shy puppies to play, and will give light, controlled corrections as needed when play gets too rough. He is highly tolerant, with both dogs and children. He has been a dream to train, and has picked up clicker training with ease. He has mastered foundational obedience skills, and we are dabbling in beginner disc sports. His recall skills are fantastic, and is not a risk of running off, preferring to stay near to his home and family. If someone is acting off around the house, he is the first to let us know with his powerful bark, but he will eagerly greet once we assure him all is well. Lasso does also have many qualities that would suit well for farm life. He is very keen to chase vermin, and has caught a bunny on our property. He gently brought it to the back door, dropped it, and let it run off when we told him to.
