Patches X Evie Litter 07/25/2021. Intelligent and observant. Evaluates fully, then leaps into action. The most biddable and quickest to learn of the entire litter. Reminds me very much of his father in his manner and behavior. Outstanding in all aspects. Gus is thoughtful and determined in his behavior. He has a strong herding instinct and will herd his father when playing fetch rather than chase the toy. His off switch is fully developed and he wastes no energy except in play with his pack. He is independent minded, but also a loyal and supportive member of his pack. He instantly alerts to anything that doesn't belong in his area, and is usually the first one to the fence to warn strangers of the boundary he is responsible for watching. While warm in personality and always happy to be around, he does not crave constant attention or affection. He greets, let's you know he is there for you, waits for an acknowledgement and some affection if it is offered; then waits for instruction if there is any. If not, he parks in your vicinity or wanders out to the perimeter to check on things. Beyond his love to try and herd or direct others when playing fetch, he never displays any kind of aggressive tendency to either his pack or his people. Very reliable and an excellent companion. Supremely good natured.
Augustus is very dutiful. The only types of work he does is guard duty and hall monitor. He is diligent in his patrolling of the perimeter and alerts well to strangers and new stimuli. As a hall monitor he is very consistent in keeping an eye on and monitoring the behavior of his pack mates. He has no problem letting them know with sharp barks when they are straying outside the boundaries of acceptable behavior. He will also try to herd his father whenever the ball is being thrown, but rarely chases the ball himself. He'd rather try to herd the others.
