Kennel name: Sivyer Glen Lilias. Scarlet is most interested in matters of family. Her heart lies with the humans. She is very in-tune and attentive to our emotions, showing compassion and concern for our wellbeing. When dealing with strangers Scarlet is reserved, not unfriendly and warms up quickly if she approves, but she will not actively seek out attention from people she does not know at first, almost being overly polite and trying to give them room. She is cautiously friendly with other dogs, and confident and gentle with our livestock. Excellent natural mothering skills. Scarlet is happiest if she can be with us, whatever we're doing. Whether that is farm work, agility, simple gameplay or chilling in the house. She is a wonderful all-around family farm dog.

Scarlet works wherever we work, inside or out, guarding, herding, playing at agility. She has a good herding drive, has moved goats, sheep, poultry and a pony without problems, and is very willing to listen to commands and wants only to please us. She regularly keeps our mean rooster away from us during chores, as shown in her video. She is never aggressive with him, only playing with him a bit when she approaches him as if to say, "bet you can't catch me!" When herding she is low to the ground, highly intuitive and has a relaxed style. Can work apart from handler but prefers her handler's insight. Gentle with livestock, quiet. Though a rather reserved dog, she is very brave and even chased off two large coyotes who were stalking our chickens in the woods near our coop. When resting in the house, Scarlet is more than happy to sleep at our feet in the living room, and has a definite off-switch.
