Working Description: Gunnar is amazing with the animals! Once, he rescued an injured chick that was out in the woods. He carried it down our lane and up to our front porch so that we could take care of it! When it comes to the pastured chickens, he will calmly walk around to herd them right back in. If one doesn't want to cooperate, he will go after it and hold it gently until I arrive to take it. At the barn, he will often quietly position himself just outside the doorway, so that if any curious goat wants out they soon lose their interest upon seeing him. Gunnar makes a great companion as well. If I must check on an animal in the night, he will without fail be at my side as soon as I walk out the door and doesn't leave me until I'm inside again. And that is without me ever calling him. I could not ask for a better temperament on our small homestead!
