Tavi is a very confident male OTSC who enjoys his work on the farm and looking out for anything out of the ordinary. He is leery of strangers but will sniff them and let them pet him if they wish. He is exceptionally good with children and lives with 2 boys who love to play with him. He loves to play fetch with his bumper float toy or the random baseball. He enjoys playing in the creek on our property and loves jumping in! One exceptional thing about this guy is his recall. He can be in the middle of herding cattle off the property (something he does often), or anywhere and when called he immediately comes to our side. He walks great on a leash but we are confident with him off leash as well. Tavi is primarily a farm dog and enjoys his job on the farm whether its moving lifestock, or being the lookout and walking fences/property lines with his owner.
Tavi lives on our 13 acre farm with our Nigerian Dwarf goats, 4 H chickens, and turkeys. We breed and raise Nigerians for milk production and show. Nigerians (especially does) can be hard to move and are quick to head butt what they consider any threat. Tavi has no issues moving them if needed and does not allow them to head butt him and is very quick to correct them. He is helpful anytime a chicken gets out of the fence and will help herd it back where it should go. Same with the turkeys, and turkeys are NOT easy to herd. He is very good with the nigerian kids and knows we do NOT chase the kids, and same with our yearly baby chicks.
