He is incredibly friendly with everyone he meets (humans and animals). He is a "dog about town" and is well known at several local stores; his friends at the pharmacy call him their "unofficial therapy dog" because of the joy he brings the employees and customers alike. He always draws a lot of attention when we go out, and we usually end up answering countless questions about the breed. Opus is an excellent family dog, who loves children of all ages. Despite his young age, he is cognizant of the need to be gentle with babies and young children. He is very attached to his family and always makes sure he knows where everyone is at all times. He is also the self-appointed president (and only member) of the neighborhood watch; he can spend hours quietly keeping watch over the neighborhood. Opus has proven to be incredibly eager to please and easy to train. He has excellent recall and we have had to expand his repertoire of tricks to sate his need for mental stimulation. He has been herding instinct tested and performed very well. He is involved in Fast CAT, agility, and trick performance and will be starting to compete in Rally soon.
