Dottie is the all american companion. She is extremely biddable in nature. She has a small home range and will not wander far when she is loose. She has always had Impeccable recall. Dottie has a very petite stature with a quick-wicking coat. She keeps her eye on the sky when there are hawks around and keeps her nose in leaf piles during copperhead season. She has a natural gentleness with children and enjoys accompanying them on all their adventures. Since she was 8 weeks old she has positioned her body in between children and any possible danger, and, she understands that her first priority here should always be accompanying our children, and allowing all of the neighborhood children to jump into our fence to play without any issue. She has never once growled or snarled. She obeys commands from the tiniest humans. This is one of her top qualities that we feel can sometimes be hard to find in a herding dog. Dottie has been exposed to free-range chicken, horses, sheep and cattle. She has no fear of livestock. She loves going to our local hardware store or pet store. We like to travel with her since she hardly needs a leash and doesn’t pitch any fits staying her crate in a new environment. To say she is adaptable and easy going for us is an understatement! She is small enough to sit on a lap or sit on a floor board and just trusts the adventure! She is unfazed by loud noises and the commotion of the 'real world'. We don’t have any issues with gun shots, fireworks, tractors, etc. she is very even keel. Dottie can thrive in a golf course community full of kids.
She is a favorite among families and farmers alike.

She displays drive and workability much like an Aussie. She is loose eyed and can work up close to the livestock without putting herself in danger. She is very obedient and a quick learner. Tons of grit from Dottie.
