Arleata has a good on/off switch and is able to chill out but is always up for a hike in the woods with her humans or an impromptu playdate with her dog friends. She has very good manners and listens to her human. She will forego temptation in favor of listening to our command (drop it, go to her bed etc.) She is patient and biddable! She is a loyal and kind family/companion dog. She gets along with all our cats and greets every visitor with gusto and a big smile. She is always looking out for her humans, checking in on them all the time and making sure everyone is where they are supposed to be. If someone new enters her territory, she will bark and alert until her human can show her that the person/other dog is not a threat. She does not have an aggressive bone in her body (unless you are a coyote or any other chicken predator) She is gentle, sensitive and full of so much love. She is excellent with small children. Fellow dog owners comment on how gentle she is when accepting treats or playing--never wanting to bite you even a tad. She does not destroy any toys. She also carries herself with such poise and distinction.

Working Description: Arleata is an excellent guardian dog for her humans and our flock of chickens. She is very in tune with her surroundings, often picking up on threats or noticing any "changes in the environment" before we see or hear them (eg: smelling a coyote or alerting us to a cat on top of the refrigerator).
