Ollie is a handsome, smart, wonderful family dog who is always eager to please. He is very social and friendly with people of all ages, as well as with other dogs. People often stop us on walks to comment on how handsome and well behaved he is. Indoors, he is relaxed and by my side most of the day. He is a good alert dog and is actively on the lookout for, and hunts down varmints. Once he finds a rodent (i.e. a groundhog), he is not deterred and will often return to that same area again. He chases deer out of the yard and returns when called. He is very attentive if someone is injured or hurt. He’s also an excellent hiking and camping dog. At age 2, I don’t trust him around chickens yet. I do think that he could be a good herder for large animals.
