Working Description: Tess moves goats and dairy cows, both driving and drawing. She will move chickens or keep them out of an area (though she's not reliable at this as she loses interest when left alone). She will also tackle beef cows with calves and has been knocked through a pipe fence and come back fighting, but we prefer to keep her away from cows with calves. She's game, but we don't want her hurt. She would like to move the horses, but is not allowed (she would correct them when I have young riders give commands and not follow through. She wants to make the horse obey). She understands the difference in livestock. Sometimes she has to retrieve goats from among the horses. I am able to run goats in one or two strand electric fences with the cows because Tess will put them back in at my command if they get out. She will not put them back unless told she may because I don't want stock getting hurt going back through a fence when I'm not there.
