Nimoy is a Shetland Sheepdog My original goal was to preserve the large working shetland sheepdog i knew from my youth in the 70's his grandsire huxley was the last one in the USA that i was aware of and i was the owner. in the 80's what i did not know then that those large working "shetlands" were very much like the mid sized scoth collies and english shepards and were often crossed both in england and in america. the photos i have of actual herding dogs in the shetlands appear to be black and white english shepards.
