Iris is friendly, outgoing and curious. She’s extremely quick to learn and wants to be involved in everything we are doing around the homestead. She goes hiking, swimming, and loves to play ball. She knows when to be gentle and plays well with the small breed dogs she lives with. She also "guards" them when they are in the yard, watching the sky for predators and making sure they are all inside when I call them in. She will alert us to anyone on the property she does not know, but once she understands it’s “okay” with her humans, she’s happy to make a new friend. Although she is not often around small children she has enjoyed the ones she has met. Iris is a hunter, and makes the rounds on her homestead every day, checking for mice, voles, and squirrels. While she has plenty of energy and is eager to get up and go, she is perfectly content to stay quietly at my side while I’m working at my desk for part of the day. Her coat is moderate, and very easy to care for.
