Reece is a very good family dog. She adores our grandchildren and loves playing with them and running through her tricks with them. She really enjoys fetch and tug of war. She is always game to go for walks in the bush. Her nose for grouse is amazing. I have no doubt one is in the area when her nose gets down to the ground and tail starts wagging. She then works the bush over and in no time a grouse is flushed. She is extremely soft mouthed both with the grouse and also with us when we are feeding her treats. She is a little cautious when meeting other dogs for the first time but once introductions have been made she loves to play hard with them. She can't help herself from putting the chase on deer when we go for walks in the back but will always return to me when I call her off. She is really good in the canoe with me and rides on the paddleboard quite well also. She barks when people arrive, at squirrels and the grouse when she flushes them up. She is very quick and agile on her feet. So quick she actually chased down and caught a wild rabbit at the cabin. She was so soft mouthed with it when she caught it. It was all wet from her mouthing it but no skin was broken, and it even ran off. Her hunting instinct is alive and well. I do believe her herding is as well. I'd like to get it tested one day, but we really don't have anything here for her to herd. Maybe she could herd the deer to the direction of our stands during hunting season. She adapts well from the cabin where she has free roam to coming back to town where she tends to stay close to us.

Reece loves to hunt. She truly has a nose for flushing up grouse. She has chased down and caught a rabbit yet was so soft mouthed with it, it could run away. She recently went in the bush after some moose, when she actually saw what they were and probably how big they were she high tailed it back out to my husband, who then told her to get back in there. So, she did! And out from the bush came a cow moose and her calf with Reece taking up the rear hair up on her back barking and chasing them. Unfortunately, we did not have a tag for them. But Wow, what bravery and natural hunting instinct from our little girl Reece at 15 months.
