Opie was found on an apple orchard farm in the mountains of NC as a puppy somewhere between the age of 10-12 weeks old. After watching him grow into a handsome, steady, loyal companion we decided to DNA test him. His results-100% English Shepherd (via Embark). Opie loves all dogs, snuggles with his humans, going for walks, and being a shadow to the 6 grandchildren that frequently visit him. Opie has a high retrieving drive. Opie watches the sky for hawks and protects his small doggy sister. Opie has excellent recall. He can be trusted to alert of any strangers on the property and Opie will quickly warm up to all trustworthy people and make them his life-long friend. Once Opie is inside, he turns into the perfect couch potato. Opie can be described as a perfect shadow dog, afternoon walking buddy and a child's best friend. We love Opie for the laid-back, steady and loving traits he brings. He is also rather "goofy" and will reciprocate communication verbally when he is spoken to. Opie would be great paired with a high-drive dam.
