Ada is often joyful and usually calm. She greets new people and visitors with caution, and meets familiar faces with excitement and cheer. She learns quickly and continually, responding well to obedience training and daily direction. Ada loves children and is always ready to play and snuggle. If introduced to animals (cats, other dogs, lambs, kids, piglets) she understands their role, respects them and often cares for them. While foreign animals are treated with alarm and defense, attacking when necessity or called to do so. She springs into action when asked but doesn't mind being confined to a room or vehicle, in which case she rests without protest.

Ada helps chore around the farm every morning, working dutifully from one pen to another while taking joy in the routine. She lounges about throughout the day, periodically walking the grounds and inspecting visitors, until she is called from across the farm to help with a loose chicken, stubborn hog, or flock of sheep. Ada takes it upon herself to kill any mouse she can catch, chase away large birds, and attack common vermin (raccoons, possums, and rabbits).
