Lexi is primarily a family pet. Both of her parents are working certified therapy dogs. She is 100% OTSC, with Silver Dollar and Coyner breeding.
Lexi is a calm, biddable, extremely intelligent dog, learns new commands quickly and has an excellent recall. She has herding and protective tendencies, but has not been trained or tested yet as to actual herding abilities. When she does herd, she uses both her body and her voice. She is a sky watcher and will always alert to the presence of hawks. She loves the water, and is an excellent, relaxed swimmer.
She is naturally a quiet dog, only barking when she feels the need to alert us to the presence of anything out of the ordinary. But she is also vocal, in that she loves to talk to us!
Lexi is protective and somewhat wary of strangers until she knows they're to be trusted. Never fearful, just discerning. Once you've been accepted by her, she will recognize you always and welcome you openly.
She loves children and wants to spend all of her time with them. She loves sports and to play, but will immediately settle down and turn off when asked, ready to go again when her people are. She is dog-friendly.
She has that wonderful teflon coat, which never mats or tangles. She never has a bad odor, even when she's been wet or spent long amounts of time outside. She has a moderate coat, typical of a female OTSC, heavier in the rear furnishings and tail. In terms of conformation, Lexi has a nice, level topline and tail set, good angulation and a relaxed, ground-eating, purposeful trot. She has a correct front, and a very slightly cow-hocked rear. She has a beautiful, typey face, lovely expression, and a perfect scissors bite, neither over- nor undershot. She has rose ears, which come up and forward into a semi-prick typical collie shape when she's extremely alert to something, or very excited.
