All around very active farm dog. Very social to dogs, pets, kids and adults. Her nickname in obedience class is "social butterfly".
Guard/Herding Dog. Laney herds the Ducks back into the barn at night. If the weather is nice she doesn´t mind doing some water herding as well. Laney is not the perfect herding dog yet, because she is very fast and hard to stop once she started. Herding is still work in progress for perfection. She has an upright herding style. She has a really strong prey drive.
Laney needs to make sure all vermint or uninvited wildlife (deer, turkey, racoons, ...) stays off the property. She chases wild ducks or geese away if they decide to take a quick break in the duck pond. She knows her flock and protects it.
She loves to play, no matter if its with a ball, frisbee or running with the ATV. She is really vocal and fit and would never fall asleep outside, she needs to make sure everything is correct and everybody is safe.
