Working Description: Laddie is very friendly with people who are guests in our home or those he can sense we are not apprehensive about like neighbors we meet on walks. He is an excellent guard dog, in that he barks and growls at strangers that approach our fence or car. He is very trainable and knows sit, lay, rollover, speak, go lay down, stay, loves to fetch, and will go find objects. He helps me herd my horse and donkeys back into the gate when I let them out to graze by the pond. He is very agile and very fast. He is an excellent example of a Scotch Collie and their traits. He has such a personality and can be very vocal. He has a great off switch, in that he will lay calmly on our bed, but then jump up on command (let’s go or what was that). He recognizes the alert tone on our Ring doorbell from my wife’s cell phone and will run to the door barking. I have owned registered Rough Collies, Border Collies and grew up with what I now know was a farm or scotch collie.
