**Hobelar was run over by a neighboring farmer today. We are all heartbroken. RIP Windspun's Hobelar of Lone Star Collies.** Hobelar is very gentle and playful, he really loves kids and other dogs and is very friendly with other people when he goes out with me to the park or to work. He has been protective of me in a couple of situations. He alerts us when people come to the house, but calms when I tell him it's OK. He knows his basic obedience, some tricks and has a great sit/stay and recall. We are working on getting his CGC certificate.

Working Description: Hobelar and I live in the country on a small farm with my grandparents. There are a few chickens and occasional goats and calves that come and go. He is not the primary farm dog, and they aren't "his" critters so he doesn't herd them. He is gentle with the farm cats and touches noses with the calves through the fence. He's only had one run-in with a skunk and I think he thought it was one of the farm cats since he got sprayed right in the face, hopefully, we won't have to repeat that lesson.
