Shire is 3/4 English Shepherd, 1/4 Rough Collie. Has a very pleasant and generally calm personality with an amazing affinity with children. He is an amazingly alert watchdog. Nothing setting foot on his property gets by his watchful eyes. From the postman to a stray cow, he sees it and warns you about it. He is a "varmint dog" extraordinaire. He has an extremely high prey drive so our property is always "varmint" free!

Working Description: Natural "nanny dog" with a wonderful ability to sense moods and feelings of people but more importantly of children. He is a very good watchdog and phenomenal rodent hunter but does not seem to have a natural herding ability though that may be more from lack of exposure than true lack of ability.
