I am a homesteader and agricultural educator in Central Alabama. We have six children and grow much of our own food on family land in the foothills of the Appalachians. When we first developed our farm I had a miniature australian shepherd named Blake that was very helpful in a lot of the work we did with animals. When my brother in law obtained as Scotch Collie (Glen Craigean's Dunrovin Coby) I became interested in the breed but couldn't afford one at the time. But I did have a farmer friend whose English shepherd was bred to their neighbor's Australian Shepherd/Border Collie mix. We got one of the litter (Rora Valley's Shepherdess) and she ended up being a great dog. Gentle, good with kids, chased away predators from the homestead, healthy. So we decided to breed her with my bro-in-law's Glen Craigean's Dunrovin Coby and have enjoyed getting to know more about the breed.
